When I finally met Jen and Ryan over some froyo after our skype meeting and email exchanges, I knew that their wedding will be a blast! Besides the fact that they’re super down to earth, their emphasis on great food at their wedding has definitely made me look forward to their big day. After getting ready, Jen’s father walked in and saw his daughter. He embraced her for a long hug and a kiss. Her dad couldn’t help but tear up at the sight of his eldest child now all grown up, and looking stunning in her wedding gown. He came prepared and quickly wiped his tear away with a handkerchief. Then he passed it to his daughter, since she’s now tearing too. That’s definitely one of the most memorable moments for me during this wedding. Another one was when Ryan’s father was tightly holding onto Ryan’s grandma, and tears were streaming down his face while he watches Ryan’s dance with his mom. Besides all the tears, there were definitely a lot of laughter as you can see from the photos below. It’s evident that this gorgeous couple is loved by all their family and friends. Towards the end of the day, the cloudy sky turned dark, and the slow drizzle turned into a heavy thunderstorm. They say it’s good luck when it rains on your wedding day. So I was glad that Jen and Ryan braved the weather, and let us take some photos of them in the rain (one photo has now been featured on Mashable and Weather.com).
Jen and Ryan, I’m so grateful for your trust, and the honor of photographing your special day. And thank you so much to the talented Chris Bartow for braving the storm with me =].
