It was such an honor to be invited to document Saskia and Andrew’s wedding day in Wiesbaden, Germany. After hanging out with them during their engagement session at The Highline, I knew this amazing couple’s wedding set in the bride’s hometown will be a lot of fun! After getting ready at the Crowne Plaza Wiesbaden, we headed to Kurhaus in a cool Rolls Royce for some awesome portraits of these two. And then it’s on to their ceremony and reception at the Jagdschloss Platte, an awesome venue full of brick walls and an amazing high glass ceiling. Of course, the happy couple did not neglect the little details of their day. Saskia’s garter was handmade by her friend, and Andrew wore cufflinks made from New York subway tokens as a little reminder of home. I’ve learned a few German wedding traditions that day. It was a lot of fun watching Saskia and Andrew race to finish cutting out a heart shape in a giant cloth (Saskia won by the way ^_^), and then Andrew carrying Saskia through the heart shaped cutout. Of course their friends didn’t make it easy for Andrew, they kept raising the cloth making Andrew’s task just a little more challenging. Saskia and Andrew, I wish you nothing but lots of happiness and cute babies!!!!! Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity. And a big thank you to George for all his assistance with lighting that day!
