I first met Jon at a wedding photography workshop. I remember one of my first wedding photography experiences was assisting Jon at an engagement session. Throughout my photography career, he has guided and helped me tremendously. That’s why I was feeling both honored and pretty nervous when Ria and Jon asked me to photograph their intimate winter wedding. Speaking of Ria, even though I’ve only met her twice before her special day, I feel like I’ve known her for a long time. The first time we met was in Manila, The Philippines. Ria and Jon treated us to delicious chicken from Mang Inasal and yummy Halo Halo. Ria even navigated the giant maze that is The Mall of Asia and helped me and Mike get a SIM card.
Ria and Jon elected to have a very non-traditional way to celebrate their big day. Their day started before sunrise with Jon and Ria getting ready in the same room at Fairfield Inn and Suites. We did make Jon cover his eyes as Ria is putting on her wedding dress. When Jon finally saw Ria in her dress, he hugged her tight and tried hard to not let the happy tears roll down his cheeks :p. We then stopped by The Somerset County Court House and then the Delaware and Raritan trail for some portraits. The happy couple was wedded by their close friend Pastor Dan Liu surrounded by their family and close friends. Everyone then enjoyed a delicious lunch and congratulated Ria and Jon on their wedding. Ria has never seen snow before, so we had to take a photo of her and Jon with the snow before we parted our ways =D.
Thank you so much Ria and Jon for trusting me to capture your wedding! And thank you to my dear hubby Mike for assisting me throughout the day =].
